Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for delivering The Character Effect™ program to school populations (teachers, administration, students, parents). This includes:  

 

  • Working with appropriate school/partner staff to coordinate full model program implementation including but not limited to scheduling professional developments, group and individual coaching, family engagement events, and Social Emotional Learning data collection.  
  • Using strengths of Social Intelligence, Perseverance, and Bravery to build positive relationships with school staff.  
  • Employing evidence-based coaching practices (powerful questions, mindful listening, etc.)  in one-on-one and group coaching with teachers.  
  • Informally observing teachers and modeling lessons, ultimately using these as opportunities to build rapport and offer support in program implementation.  
  • Facilitating workshops and prevention groups with students ranging in age from Prek to high school.  
  • Applying adult learning theories to the development and facilitation of Professional Development workshops.  
  • Supporting Family Engagement Specialist in scheduling, publicizing, and facilitating Family Engagement events. 
  • Partnering with Customer Success Manager to meet the diverse needs of our partners and empower partner leadership to engage and invest in the success of the program. 
  • Authentically integrating mindfulness, character strengths, and intentionality into work performed and into relationships with colleagues, school staff, etc.  
  • Communicating with all necessary Beech Acres colleagues (e.g. Beyond the Classroom Team Lead) and school staff on important matters influencing the implementation of the program.  
  • Maintaining oral and/or written communication skills that are clear, concise, and convincing. 
  • Demonstrating cultural competency by communicating respectfully and professionally with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.  
  • Collaborating with colleagues on innovation opportunities, ensuring program materials, resources, and workshops are engaging and cultivate student/teacher learning.  
  • Embracing rapid cycle learning and experiment design concepts and strategies.  
  • Traveling to various locations within a 90 mile radius of Cincinnati to provide in-person support for our partners. (Planned evening and weekend hours are periodically required.) 
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures. 

 

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Psychology or related area of study; Master’s degree preferred.  
  • Ohio Teaching License strongly preferred.  
  •  3+ years of experience in education, teaching, training, or related area.  
  • Training and/or knowledge in mindfulness, mindful movement, social/emotional learning, positive psychology, and VIA character strengths. 
  • Comfortable facilitating training to large audiences.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
